
In Moldova, every fourth employee receives a salary of less than 5 thousand lei.
According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, the average salary (gross) accrued to workers in the real sector, in which 4 or more employees are employed, amounted to 10,353.3 lei in September. At the same time, about 76% of employees received a salary of more than 5 thousand lei, 24.2% - less than 5 thousand lei. Of the total number of employees, 41.8% had a salary below 7 thousand lei, 24% - from 7 to 10 thousand lei, 19.1% - from 10 to 15 thousand lei and 15.1% received a salary of more than 15 thousand lei. Approximately 0.3% of employees earned less than 3,500 lei. Statistical data indicate an increase in the number of employees with a salary of more than 10 thousand lei (+7.5 p.p.), while the share of employees with a salary of less than 4 thousand lei has decreased. The distribution by type of economic activity shows the concentration of workers with lower wages in several industries. Thus, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 19% of employees receive up to 4 thousand lei per month, and 16.1% - from 4 to 5 thousand lei; in the field of art, recreation and entertainment, 20% earn up to 4 thousand lei, 16% - 4-5 thousand lei, in the field of catering and accommodation services, 17.1% of employees received up to 4 thousand lei, - from 4 to 5 thousand lei, in real estate transactions - 25% up to 4 thousand lei, 18% - from 4 to 5 thousand lei. At the same time, the highest salaries are received in the field of insurance and finance, ICT and in public administration and defense, social insurance. In particular, in the ICT sector, 92.5% of employees earn more than 7 thousand lei per month, 79.6% - more than 10 thousand lei; in insurance and finance, these figures are 90% and, respectively, 73.7%, and in the field of public administration and defense, compulsory social insurance - 77.5% of employees received more than 7 thousand lei, and 43.3% - more than 10 thousand lei. // 13.12.2022 — InfoMarket
