
Moldova plans to receive grants in the amount of 5 billion 505.3 million lei to the budget in 2023, which is 19.4% (894.1 million lei) more than the adjusted figure for 2022.
This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance to the draft Law on the state budget for 2023, which was approved by the government. As noted, in general, it is planned to receive grants to support the budget in the amount of 4 billion 322.4 million lei (the equivalent of 186 million euros and $17 million). In particular, it is planned that in the form of grants to support the budget, Moldova in 2023 will receive 120 million euros from the EU in the form of budget support, and 40 million euros in the form of EU macro-financial assistance. The United Nations Development Program will allocate 20 million euros, and the World Bank will provide $17 million in the form of a DPO project (Operations for Development Policies). In addition, in 2023, Moldova plans to receive grants to finance projects from external sources in the amount of 1 billion 182.9 million lei (the equivalent of $59.1 million). At the same time, grants for budgetary support will amount to 78.5% of the total projected volume of external grants, and grants for the implementation of projects financed from external sources - 21.5% of the total planned volume of grants. The share of grants in the total amount of state budget revenues will be 8.5%.
