At the same time, on the whole, in January-March 2022, the internal public debt of Moldova decreased by 1 billion 085.3 million lei (-3.3%), since as of the end of December 2021 it was 33 billion 281.4 million lei. It should be noted that the record figure of internal public debt of Moldova was registered as of the end of July 2021, when it amounted to 34 billion 333.6 million lei, while as of the end of February 2022 it was 33 billion 061.7 million lei. According to the Ministry of Finance, the decline in domestic public debt in 3 months of this year occurred mainly due to the reduction of the volume of government securities in the primary market. In particular, as of the end of March 2022 the arrears of state securities issued on the primary market amounted to about 17 billion 639.35 million lei, down by 1 billion 138.8 million lei (6.1%) as compared to the end of 2021. (18 billion 778.15 million lei), and accounted for 54.8% of the total volume of domestic public debt. At the same time, the debt on bonds issued for the fulfillment by the Ministry of Finance of payment obligations arising from state guarantees dated November 17, 2014 and April 1, 2015, as of the end of March 2022 amounted to 12 billion 351.2 million lei, without changing, compared to the situation as of the end of 2021. It accounted for 38.4% of the total amount of Moldova's domestic public debt as of the end of March 2022. At the same time, the debt on converted government securities, as of the end of March 2022, accounted for 2 billion 205.56 million lei, increasing versus the end of 2021 by 53.52 million lei (+2.5%), and accounted for 6.8% of the total domestic public debt as of the end of March 2022. The average weighted interest rate on government securities sold at auctions amounted to 11.55% (by types of government securities: 91 days - 11.22%, 182 days - 11.46%, 364 days - 11.77%, 2 years - 10.88%, 3 years - 12.86%, 5 years - 9.43%, 7 years - 10%) which is by 6.57 percentage points more relative to the same period of the previous year.
