Municipal councilors approve amendments to the budget of Chisinau municipality for 2020.
The new amendments provide for a reduction of more than 28 million lei in the revenue side. It should be reminded that the budget for 2020 provided for revenues of 4.3 billion lei, including transfers from the state budget of 2.4 billion lei, as well as expenditures of 4.6 billion lei. The reduction in the revenue part is associated with a decrease in a number of local taxes by 28 million lei. The income from the sale of municipal land was also adjusted; it decreased by 95 million lei to 103 million lei. On the other hand, expenses also decreased by more than 184 million lei. The main changes concern an increase in the amounts allocated for prefectures, landscaping of the territory, as well as other investment projects. The expenses for the suburbs were also increased by 2.8 million lei to complete infrastructure projects financed from the municipal budget. Other changes in the expenditure part relate to the allocation of 995 thousand lei to pay for the reconstruction of the granite staircase in Valea Morilor Park due to the change in the exchange rate and payment for works financed from external sources. At the same time, it was decided to allocate an additional 1 million lei to the Construction Department to carry out an examination of all investment work carried out in the municipality in 2020. The Chisinau mayor's office informs that, as of November 19, 2020, the revenue part of the city budget was executed at the level of 3.64 billion lei, which is 81.2% of the previously envisaged plan. In addition, part of the expenses was fulfilled at 74.1%, and expenses amounted to about 3.66 billion lei.
