Michio Kaku: "Moldova is a rocket that is about to take off."

The world famous futurist, scientist covering world trends in economics, finance, medicine, author of 4 bestsellers, in an interview with a group of Moldovan journalists said that Moldova has everything it needs to take off: the wine industry, agriculture, relative peace and, the most important thing is the people in whose education you need to invest: "This rocket needs matches to take off." He considers investments in entrepreneurship to create new industries as "matches". This also means reducing the tax burden on new industries, helping in the form of subsidies, grants, reducing unnecessary regulation and creating a culture in which it is easy to start new business. Stimulating these processes requires universities, which, first and foremost, must educate people on how to become an entrepreneur. In his opinion, gold and oil are no longer indicators of prosperity; raw materials have been replaced by “data - new oil of the future”. The futurist believes that there is no secret in creating a new "Silicon Valley": a stable population, educated youth, a center for university education, and government understanding and support. Silicon Valley in the beginning attracted companies with cheap land and the proximity to Stanford University, which supplied educated graduates. According to the expert, "many people know how to create such a valley, but few do it." “Wellbeing depends on science and technology, we have moved from the industrial revolution, which required the training of farmers to work with machines, to the electronic revolution. It also demanded retraining. Now we are moving from the computer revolution to the i-Revolution, which requires retraining people, creates new norms for doing business and creating jobs, and forms a culture of entrepreneurship,” said Michio Kaku, who is one of the key speakers invited by the Investment Promotion Agency of Moldova for participation in Moldova Business Week. This year the event will take place on November 19-20 online (www.mbw.md). // 17.11.2020 - InfoMarket.
