The previous record indicator of Moldova's internal public debt was registered at the end of September 2020, when it amounted to 28 billion 161.4 million lei. Thus, in October, the internal public debt increased by 415.7 million lei (+ 1.5%), and in general, in January-October 2020, the internal public debt of Moldova increased by 5 billion 081.1 million lei (+ 21.6% ), amounting to 28 billion 577.1 million lei at the end of October this year against 23 billion 495.9 million lei as of January 1, 2020. According to the Ministry of Finance, such a change in the internal public debt over 10 months of 2020 was mainly due to an increase in the issue of government securities in the primary market by 5 billion 331.7 million lei. In particular, as of the end of October 2020, the debt on state securities issued in the primary market amounted to about 13 billion 902.5 million lei, which is 5 billion 331.7 million lei (62.2%) more than at the end of 2019, and its share accounted for 48.65% of the total volume of domestic public debt. At the same time, the debt on bonds issued for the execution by the Ministry of Finance of payment obligations arising from state guarantees dated November 17, 2014 and April 1, 2015, at the end of October 2020 amounted to 12 billion 611.2 million lei, having decreased by 240 million lei (-1.9%), compared to the situation at the end of 2019. It accounted for 44.13% of the total amount of Moldova's internal public debt at the end of October 2020.The debt on converted government securities at the end of October 2020 amounted to 2 billion 063.39 million lei, which is 10.54 million (0.5%) less than at the end of 2019 (7.22% of the total amount of domestic public debt).
