Moldova Startup Week 2020 is being held online for the first time.
The event began with a discussion of legislation, models for the development of international ecosystems, specialized programs and funding platforms, as well as other actions to stimulate local entrepreneurship based on technology and innovation. Along with representatives of state authorities, local and international experts, as well as development partners, take part in Moldova Startup Week 2020. Within 5 days, local startups will have access to conferences and seminars, information on potential sources of funding and programs for launching entrepreneurial initiatives. Participants of the event can exchange experience with other startups in various fields, as well as meet with potential investors. Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Anatolie Usatii, who took part in the opening of Moldova Startup Week 2020, noted that Moldovan authorities have consistently strengthened the information and communication technologies sector in recent years, and a number of policies have been developed to support it, including the Digital Moldova Strategy 2020, Law about IT parks and IT visa. Technology startups play a special role in this area because of their role in driving digital innovation.
