According to the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba, maib customers can now use digital documents from EVO when interacting with the bank, and without presenting physical IDs, without going to the bank, digitally, directly from their phones, they can update their data, open an account, apply for a card, get a loan and much more. “I know at least 2 other banks are almost ready to follow suit. EVO launched 6 months ago and it is a natural period of adaptation. But step by step we are getting closer to our goal of a 100% digital state. According to maib, as part of its ongoing commitment to meet the needs of its customers and contribute to the digitalization of public services, maib is offering its customers the new option of using the EVO government app. With this integration, maib is taking an important step towards the digitalization of banking and administration processes, offering customers a simplified and secure experience. As of December 16, maib's existing individual customers can perform a number of financial transactions using the digital ID obtained in the EVO app. They will be able to update their personal data (in case of overdue KYC), receive cash through the cash desk, make international transfers (FOREX/SAPI/SWIFT), open or close current accounts, deposits, apply for or re-issue bank cards. Thanks to EVO maib integration, EVO maib offers its customers the possibility to access financial and public services quickly and efficiently, saving time and benefiting from the advantages of digital security. Citizens must have an electronic signature to take advantage of all EVO features. The EVO app can be downloaded from online app stores, depending on the phone's operating system - iOS or Android. EVO is an integrated government app that simplifies citizens' access to government services. The app, launched officially on June 6, 2024, offers access to digital documents, information about citizens and businesses, the ability to pay for various services, and now the ability to make an appointment. Citizens need an electronic signature to access all EVO functions. Anyone can choose between a mobile electronic signature (offered by Orange or Moldcell) or a signature on a USB-stick. Users are recommended to set up two-step authentication or install the EVOSign application for quick access and authentication after obtaining the electronic signature.
