Net profit of Moldovan banks in Q1 2024 amounted to 814.25 million lei, down by 39.2% (-524.1 million), compared to the same period of 2023.

According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks of the country gained profit in 3 months of this year. At the same time, more than 737.5 million lei (about 90.6% of the total net profit) accounted for 4 banks: maib, Moldindconbank, OTP Bank and Victoriabank. Another 76.7 million lei of net profit was earned by the remaining 7 banks. At the same time, only 1 of the banks had an increase in profit in January-March 2024 compared to the same period of 2023, while 10 banks had a decrease. As follows from the data presented by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, in the first quarter of 2024 the highest net profit was obtained by: maib - 336.28 million lei (in the first quarter of 2023 - 333.39 million lei), Moldindconbank - 204.14 million lei (328.26 million lei), OTP Bank - 126.4 million lei (232.24 million) and Victoriabank - 70.71 million lei (239.15 million).
