
Moldovan banks' income from exchange rate differences in January-February 2024 amounted to 325.7 million lei, up by 85.9 million lei (+35.8%) from the same period of 2023.
According to the data of the National Bank of Moldova, the biggest profit from the exchange rate difference in 2 months of 2024 was received by maib: 100.1 mln lei against 65.92 mln lei for the same period a year earlier. OTP Bank, that ranked 2nd, in January-February 2024 received income from the exchange rate difference in the amount of over 57.04 million lei, whereas in the same period a year earlier this indicator amounted to 49.38 million lei. The 3rd place was occupied by Victoriabank, whose similar income in January-February 2024 amounted to 49.56 million lei against 30.68 million lei in January-February 2023.
