
EBRD Vice President for Policy and Partnerships Mark Bowman discusses with the Moldovan authorities the priorities of the new EBRD Strategy until 2028.
In Chisinau, President of the National Bank of Moldova Octavian Armasu met with him. According to the NBM, the parties discussed the priorities of the EBRD strategy for Moldova for 2023-2028: strengthening energy resilience and security, promoting a green economy, supporting the development of a competitive private sector, sustainable financial infrastructure, improving governance, developing infrastructure to support economic growth and expansion of trade relations. NBM President Octavian Armasu, in the context, spoke about the macroeconomic situation in Moldova, the circumstances that contributed to the growth of inflation, starting with the pandemic crisis, the war in Ukraine, the increase in energy prices, and also noted the measures taken by the National Bank to curb inflation. A senior EBRD representative is visiting Chisinau to negotiate with the Moldovan authorities on the economic situation and challenges faced by our country in order to establish effective support under the EBRD Strategy for Moldova 2023-2028.
