Levon Khanikyan became the new CEO of Victoriabank.

He officially took up this position after receiving the approval of the National Bank of Moldova. Levon Khanikyan took over from Bogdan Plesuvescu, who had been the CEO of Victoriabank since 2018, when the Romanian Banca Transilvania became the major shareholder of the Moldovan bank. Bogdan Plesuvescu will stay at Banca Transilvania Financial Group in Romania after receiving approval from the authorities. Levon Khanikyan joined Banca Transilvania in 2021, when Idea::Bank România, where he was Vice President Risk - Board Member, became part of Banca Transilvania Financial Group. Levon Khanikyan completed his term as Vice President of Idea::Bank România in April 2022, after holding this position for 7 years. The new CEO of Victoriabank has more than 20 years of international experience in banking, risk management, SME and retail lending and capital market operations. Prior to joining Idea::Bank România, Levon Khanikyan held senior positions in a number of banks in Belarus (2009-2015), Armenia (2007-2009), Georgia (2006-2007) and Ukraine (2004-2006). The controlling stake in Victoriabank belongs to VB Investment Holding B.V. (Netherlands), which owns 72.19% of its shares.
