
Total assets of banks of Moldova for 9 months in 2021 increased by 9.6% (+10 billion lei), amounting to 113.8 billion lei.
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) reported this, noting that the largest share in the structure of assets in the balance sheet accounted for “loans and advances at amortized cost”, which amounted to 45.8% (52.1 billion lei), having increased by 2.5 percentage points. The share of banks' investments in government securities and certificates of the National Bank amounted to 16.4% (18.6 billion lei), having decreased by 1.2 percentage points. The share of funds in the NBM amounted to 18.9% (21.5 billion lei), having decreased by 2.8 percentage points. The rest of the assets, which amounted to 19% (21.7 billion lei), are kept by banks in other banks, in cash, tangible and intangible assets, etc. Their share increased by 1.7 percentage points compared to the situation at the end of 2020. According to the NBM, the gross balance of (prudential) loans amounted to 46.9% of the total assets (53.4 billion lei), having increased by the reporting period by 16.9% (7.7 billion lei). At the same time, the volume of newly issued loans for 9 months in 2021 grew by 41.5% compared to the situation at the end of the last year. At the same time, the largest increase in the loan portfolio in January-September of this year was in consumer loans - by 34.2% (2.6 billion lei), as well as in loans granted for the purchase / construction of housing - by 32.1% (2.5 billion lei). // 13.12.2021 – InfoMarket
