
In the banking sector of Moldova for 9 months in 2021, the balance of deposits increased by 6.8 billion lei (8.6%) - up to 86.5 billion lei.
This was announced by the National Bank of Moldova, assessing the financial situation in the banking sector in January-September this year. The National Bank notes that at the same time, deposits of individuals amounted to 62.9% of all deposits, deposits of legal entities - 36.9%, and deposits of banks - 0.2%. The overall growth in the balance of deposits for 9 months of 2021 led to an increase in the balance of deposits of individuals by 3.6 billion lei (+ 7.2%) - to 54.4 billion lei, an increase in the balance of deposits of legal entities by 3.2 billion lei (+ 11.1%) - to 31.9 billion lei, as well as the balance of bank deposits - by 1.5 million lei (+ 1%) - up to 149.4 million lei. In the total volume of deposits, 57.6% fell on deposits in lei, the balance of which in January-September of this year increased by 3.5 billion lei (+ 7.5%), in comparison with the situation at the end of 2020, amounting to 49.8 billion lei at the end of September 2021.
