The volume of deposits in lei (MDL), attracted by banks of Moldova as of the end of August 2021 amounted to 49 billion 195.1 million lei, having decreased over the month by 315.6 million lei (-0.6%).
The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) informed that, at the same time, the volume of deposits attracted in foreign currency (in terms of MDL) increased by 892.1 million lei (+ 2.5%) - up to 36 billion 215.7 million lei. According to the NBM, at the same time, MDL deposits of individuals decreased over the month by 210.8 million lei (-0.7%) - to 31 billion 313.9 million lei, and deposits in foreign currency (in MDL equivalent) - decreased by 115.5 million lei (-0.5%) - to 22 billion 915.7 million lei. At the same time, legal entities’ MDL deposits decreased by 104.8 million lei (-0.6%) - to 17 billion 861.1 million lei, and deposits in foreign currency - increased by 1 billion 007.6 million lei (+ 8.2%) - up to 13 billion 300 million lei. At the same time, the volume of MDL deposits increased by 15.2% - up to 28.53 million lei, and foreign currency deposits - by 14.4% - up to 96.38 million lei. According to the NBM, in terms of the total amount of attracted MDL deposits as of the end of August 2021, the leaders were: Moldova-Agroindbank - 14.87 billion lei (a month earlier - 14.68 billion), Moldindconbank - 11.69 billion lei (11.85 billion), Victoriabank - 7.64 billion lei (7.79 billion), OTP Bank - 6.53 billion lei (6.61 billion). At the same time, in terms of the amount of attracted deposits in foreign currency (expressed in MDL) as of the end of August 2021, the leading positions were held by: Moldova-Agroindbank - 11.61 billion (a month earlier - 11.57 billion), Moldindconbank - 5.83 billion lei (5.76 billion), OTP Bank - 6.02 billion (5.57 billion), Victoriabank - 5.19 billion lei (5.27 billion). At the same time, the largest amount of attracted individuals’ MDL deposits as of the end of August 2021 was registered by Moldova-Agroindbank - 10.19 billion lei (a month earlier - 10.14 billion lei), Moldindconbank - 8.44 billion lei (8.57 billion lei), Victoriabank - 4.31 billion lei (4.38 billion lei), OTP Bank - 3.71 billion lei (3.72 billion lei), FinComBank - 1.07 billion lei (1.08 billion lei), Eximbank - 1.02 billion lei (1.02 billion).
