
Moldovan banks’ net profit in January-May 2021 amounted to 737.87 million lei, up 137.26 million (+ 22.9%), compared to the same period in 2020.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, all 11 banks received profit in the first 5 months of this year. At the same time, about 638.5 million lei (86.5% of the total net profit) accounted for 4 banks: Moldindconbank, Mobiasbanca - OTP Group, Moldova-Agroindbank and Victoriabank. The remaining 7 banks earned about 99.4 million lei in net profit. At the same time, in respect of 7 out of 11 banks the profit in the specified period of 2021 increased relative to the same period in 2020, and in respect of 4 banks - the profit decreased. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank of Moldova, in particular, in January-May 2021, the largest net profit was received by: Moldova-Agroindbank - 218.36 million lei (in January-May 2020 - 267.31 million lei), Moldindconbank - 214.06 million lei (149.42 million), Mobiasbanca - OTP Group - 118.19 million lei (26.82 million) and Victoriabank - 87.89 million lei (39.14 million).
