
The net profit of the banks of Moldova in January 2021 amounted to 165.8 million lei, an increase of 5.1 million (+ 3.2%), compared to the same period in 2020.
According to the National Bank of Moldova, 10 out of 11 banks gained profit in the first month of this year, and 1 bank suffered losses. At the same time, about 151.83 million lei (91.6% of the total net profit) fell on the share of 4 banks: Moldindconbank, Mobiasbanca - OTP Group, Moldova-Agroindbank and Victoriabank. Another 18.76 million lei of net profit was earned by 6 banks, and one of the banks suffered losses of 4.77 million lei. Herewith, for 5 out of 10 banks that made a profit in January 2021, it increased, compared to the same period in 2020, for 4 banks, the profit decreased, and a bank made a profit, while for the same period in the year previously incurred losses. As follows from the data provided by the National Bank, in particular, in January 2021, the largest net profit was received by: Moldindconbank - 46.23 million lei (in January 2020 - 32.67 million), Mobiasbanca - OTP Group - 44.3 million lei (21.21 million), Moldova-Agroindbank - 41.6 million lei (67.55 million lei) and Victoriabank - 19.7 million lei (18.74 million). Further, in terms of net profit in January 2021, the following are: FinComBank - 5.58 million lei (in January 2020 - 3.67 million lei), ProCreditBank - 4.74 million lei (7.64 million), Eximbank - 4.35 million lei (in January 2020 it had losses of 1.36 million lei), Energbank - 1.85 million lei (a year earlier - a profit of 3.33 million lei), EuroCreditBank - 1.24 million lei (0.68 million), Comertbank - 1 million lei (1.71 million), and BCR Chisinau in January 2021 suffered losses of 4.77 million lei against a net profit of 4.86 million lei a year earlier.
