The National Bank has postponed the deadline for transferring all registers of securities holders to the Unified Central Securities Depository, the relevant NBM decree was published in Monitorul Oficial. As a reminder, according to the Law on the Unified Central Securities Depository, registration companies and issuers that maintain registers of securities holders on their own are obliged to transfer the registers of securities holders and full related documentation, including the history of records, in electronic format and on paper. Until now, banks, insurance companies and entities admitted to trading on a regulated market and within the multilateral trading system have ensured the phased transfer of registers of securities holders to the Unified Central Securities Depository. The registers of the remaining securities holders were to be transferred to the Unified Central Securities Depository by December 15, 2020.
