A Digital Innovation and Tech Startup Support Fund will be established in Moldova
Specifically, the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), with the support of the EU4Innovation East project, will launch a grant funding mechanism for startups in Moldova. As noted in a statement by MITP, documents regarding the structure, selection criteria, and operating mode of this mechanism are currently being developed. In this context, MITP invites organizations from the national startup ecosystem and the private sector to participate in a public consultation session aimed at facilitating an open dialogue on the relevance, approach, and intended impact of the proposed instrument. The public consultation will take place on February 24 at the GLIA Impact Hub. Funds to support digital innovation and tech startups will be provided through the EU4Innovation East project, and MITP will administer the grants. "Your participation in the consultation is crucial to shaping a funding mechanism tailored to the real needs of startups and to strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Moldova," MITP noted. It was previously reported that the government would provide financial support for the development of digital innovation and technology startups within the Moldova IT Park. The creation of a fund for this purpose was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. The new fund will allow MITP residents to invest in strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, government technologies, biotechnology, agritech, cloud technologies, and robotics. The fund will be managed by the MITP administration, and a Coordination Committee will select and monitor projects, ensuring the transparency and effectiveness of the process.
