As reported by the Moldovan government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the 24th National Wine Day is the most important event dedicated to Moldova's wine heritage. The event was attended by more than 150,000 people from over 30 countries. A total of 9,100 tasting passports (cards) were sold, which is 82% more than in 2024. The event was attended by 106 wine-producing enterprises, 43 of which are small local producers. At the opening of the event, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga expressed gratitude to the winemakers and winegrowers for their hard work and enthusiasm. She recalled that Moldova had experienced important moments this year: for the first time, it hosted the World Congress of Vine and Wine in Chisinau and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where our wines impressed the international jury. "These successes show that Moldova is not just a small dot on the map, but a respected and valued name that embodies the highest quality. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry will continue to support winemakers through clear policies, support programs, and the promotion of local varieties that represent our uniqueness and competitive advantage in foreign markets. Wine is not only a tradition, but also a future—a future that we are building together," said Ludmila Catlabuga. During the official ceremony, awards were presented for the most significant achievements in the wine industry. The Wine School played an important role in the festival program, continuing to promote a culture of responsible consumption and oenological education. Visitors were able to take part in themed sessions organized by sommeliers and tasters with international experience. Local wine varieties, the characteristics of wine-producing regions with protected geographical indications, rules for pairing wine with food, and professional tasting techniques were presented. The program also included the Peasant's Yard, a space where traditional crafts such as pottery, wood carving, carpet weaving, and wine painting were presented. Journalists and experts from Poland, South Korea, and Canada were invited to the event to prepare materials dedicated to Moldovan wine. // 06.10.2025 — InfoMarket
