10 major infrastructure projects are planned to be implemented within the framework of the EU-approved Moldova Economic Growth Plan worth 1.9 billion euros
This was announced by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance Radu Marian, noting that this is one of the most important tools with which the country will be able to achieve economic growth and a significant increase in citizens' incomes in the next 4 years. This plan aims to support 25,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, stimulate private investments in the amount of more than 4 billion euros and finance major infrastructure projects. Radu Marian gave 10 examples of major infrastructure projects that are planned to be implemented within the framework of the Moldova Economic Growth Plan. This includes the construction of a ring road in Chisinau, as well as an intermodal cargo terminal - a modern logistics center that will reduce the costs of exporters and importers. In addition, it is planned to build a multimodal logistics complex in Beresti (Ungheni district), near Romania, to integrate Moldova into international transport corridors. At the same time, it is planned to build a section of the Cainari-Falciu railway with a length of over 100 km, which will connect Moldova with Romania, which will speed up the transportation of goods and passengers to the European Union. It is also envisaged to build a section of the Cahul-Giurgiulesti railway to facilitate the access of Moldovan goods to the Danube, and to build new road bridges across the Prut. It is also planned to build a new power transmission line (400 kV) for a new connection with the energy system of Romania to ensure Moldova's energy independence and cheaper and more stable energy. Radu Marian noted that the plans also include the development of regional industrial and technological platforms - the creation of industrial parks and business incubators in various regions, attracting investors and creating thousands of new jobs. The implementation of the National Program "European Village" and the program for the development of urban centers will also continue. Particular attention will be paid to the development of irrigation systems in agriculture. "We will invest heavily in rehabilitating irrigation stations and expanding water supply networks for farmers, which will increase drought resilience and agricultural production," Radu Marian emphasized. // 02.09.2025 – InfoMarket.
