
Over the past five years, Moldova has received approximately €42 million in financial assistance from Japan through JICA
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this during a meeting in Tokyo with Tanaka Akihiko, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which has been supporting the economic and social development of partner countries for many years. Prime Minister noted that over the past five yaers, thanks to JICA, Moldova has received approximately €42 million in financial assistance, and thanks to these funds, five hospitals in our country have been equipped with modern medical equipment, 19 special vehicles have been purchased for firefighters and rescuers, more than 1,000 farmers have received support for the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies, including the installation of photovoltaic panels in 47 farms, and subsidies provided to farmers amounted to about €2 million. The National Library has been equipped with modern equipment to digitize cultural heritage. “We want to continue these projects to provide our citizens with better living conditions,” Dorin Recean emphasized. In Tokyo, he also met with Takeshi Hashimoto, Chairman of the Keidanren Business Cooperation Committee, the most important association of the Japanese business community.
