The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development has simplified the rules and prepared the groundwork for the launch of 182 new infrastructure projects worth a total of around 6 billion lei
It is noted that in August, the Ministry updated the Single Programming Document, the Moldovan government's main strategic tool for planning and financing regional and local development projects. The 182 new projects will cover all regions of the country, from road repairs and modernization of tourist facilities in the northern region to expanding access to drinking water and renovating public spaces in the central region, developing networks and tourist destinations in the southern region, and supporting business in Gagauzia ATU. In August, work also began on the Europa este aproape (Europe is close) and Curtea Europeană (European Court) programs in the settlements of Hirtopul Mare, Cricova, and Ciorescu. A contract was signed to modernize more than 40 km of the R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul-Giurgiulesti road, which will improve traffic safety for residents of five settlements. In the Riscani district, work began on a 3 km section of the Reteni-Pascauti road. The Podul de Flori (Bridge of Flowers) project in Ungheni remains a priority, with a joint inspection involving Moldovan and Romanian officials taking place in August; work is proceeding according to schedule. In the construction sector, new rules have been approved that simplify the connection of new buildings in settlements with up to 3,000 inhabitants to utility networks and speed up road repair work. In addition, construction industry specialists with secondary technical education who have been certified have the opportunity to obtain additional certification required to work in this field. In addition, the Ministry continued to prepare negotiating positions on chapters 14 (“Transport Policy”) and 21 (“Trans-European Networks”) as part of the European integration process, emphasizing that all efforts are aimed at “building for the people and for the country.” // 28.08.2025 — InfoMarket.
