The Government will allocate 16.2 million lei (equivalent to 860 thousand euros) to increase the share capital belonging to Moldova in the EBRD
The government approved the relevant resolution at a meeting on 16 July. The decision to increase the EBRD capital is in line with the resolution of the Board of Governors of this financial institution and reflects Moldova's commitments. As noted by the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor, Moldova's share is crucial for maintaining votes and strengthening influence within these organizations. Moldova's contribution to this increase is 4 million euros, and this amount will be paid in stages, in 5 annual tranches. The financial resources for the current year are already provided for in the Law on the State Budget, and the amounts for subsequent years will be gradually included in the medium-term budget framework for 2026-2029. Doina Nistor stressed that the EBRD is one of the main partners of Moldova, supporting the development of our country through investments in infrastructure, energy efficiency, transport, agriculture, ecology and other important sectors. Currently, 69 projects worth a total of €1.3 billion are being implemented in Moldova with the support of the EBRD. These projects directly contribute to improving living conditions, creating well-paid jobs and modernizing the national economy.// 16.07.2025 — InfoMarket
