Moldova is discussing the gradual liberalization of trade with the European Union so that producers can continue to export agricultural products to the EU
This was discussed during a meeting held in Brussels between Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor, European Commissioner for Trade Maroš Šefčovič, and European Commissioner for Agriculture Christophe Hansen. The discussion focused on how to bring real benefits to Moldova's economy, its citizens, and businesses. In particular, the parties discussed the gradual liberalization of trade with the European Union so that domestic producers can continue to export table grapes, apples, cherries, plums, tomatoes, garlic, and grape juice to the EU. They also discussed specific steps being taken to attract investment to Moldova and create high-paying jobs in our country. At the same time, with Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Doina Nistor discussed the implementation of Moldova's Growth Plan and economic projects that will be implemented with its support. Doina Nistor welcomed the statement by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the provision of the first tranche of €270 million in funding to support reforms and bring the country's economy closer to the single European market. “We’d like to express gratitude to the European Union for the constant support it provides to our country!” emphasized the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. // 14.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
