The EU should decide on the permanent liberalization of tariff quotas in trade relations with Moldova - Siegfried Muresan
The Romanian Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Moldova announced this at a meeting of the Committee on International Trade, discussing the future of the Free Trade Area with Moldova and Ukraine. Siegfried Muresan noted that the EU should take swift and clear steps towards the permanent liberalization of tariff quotas in trade relations with Moldova. He stressed that at the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the European Union temporarily suspended these quotas, granting Moldovan farmers full duty-free access to the European market. This measure had a significant impact, helping to support farmers during a difficult period. “We remain firmly committed to supporting Moldova at this important moment in its economic and political development. Continued liberalization is a natural step towards preserving Moldova's European path,” said Siegfried Muresan. // 15.07.2025 – InfoMarket.
