Moldova will have to implement high digital standards, complex IT systems, and technological infrastructure compatible with the European Union's infrastructure in the coming years - Dorin Recean
Prime Minister made this statement while speaking at Moldova Digital Summit 2025, one of the most important regional events in the information technology sector. The head of government noted that the integration of digital solutions in all areas, the continued digitization of public services, and the adoption of high digital standards as Moldova moves forward on its European path are key objectives for the coming period. Dorin Recean stressed that digital transformation is no longer an option but an absolute prerequisite for economic success and international relevance. “In this regard, non-IT businesses need your help. They need to know how to increase their productivity, how to become more efficient, and how to become competitive. I am counting on you to help non-IT businesses implement IT solutions, particularly artificial intelligence,” Prime Minister said in his address to the event participants. He noted the government's progress in digitizing public services. Today, more than 80% of entrepreneurs interact with the state in digital format, from starting a business to paying taxes. “Saving time means trust, and digital public services are our key to restoring citizens' trust,” said the head of the Cabinet, referring to the impact of social media development and the risks of disinformation. During the event, a new digital platform was launched through which citizens can participate in government decision-making - eDemocrație. Regarding our country's European path, Prime Minister emphasized that in the coming years, in addition to legislative and institutional reforms, Moldova will have to adopt high digital standards, complex IT systems, and technological infrastructure compatible with that of the European Union. He called on summit participants to engage in fruitful discussions and seek smart digital solutions for modernizing and optimizing government bureaucracy. "We are announcing a competition for solutions for government smart bureaucracy. The Moldovan government will be your first customer and the best seller of your solutions!" said Dorin Recean. This year, the Moldova Digital Summit was attended by 100 speakers from our country and abroad, about 150 companies, and a total of more than 3,500 people. // 09.06.2025 - InfoMarket
