The IT sector accounts for 7% of Moldova's GDP, surpassing traditional industries and having one of the fastest growth rates in Eastern Europe
Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor stated this at the Moldova Digital Summit 2025, noting that over the past few years Moldova has become a leader in digital governance and IT innovation. In terms of export performance, Moldova has the highest growth rate of ICT services in the region, surpassing our neighbors Ukraine and Romania, as well as the Baltic countries. “Exports of services, including IT and BPO, reached a record $2.7 billion, twice as much as in 2020.
