The Moldovan Parliament will consider a bill aimed at strengthening and expanding trade with the European Union
As reported by the press service of the supreme legislative body, in particular, members of the Committee on Economy, Budget and Finance approved the report on the bill on the principle of mutual recognition of goods legally sold in EU countries. The legislative initiative was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization and transfers into national legislation the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council of Europe on the mutual recognition of goods legally sold in the territory of another Member State. The purpose of the bill is to facilitate the free movement of goods between the European Union and Moldova. Thus, the document establishes clear procedures to ensure the free movement of goods legally sold in the territory of a Member State, as well as the possibility of restricting or infringing on the right to free movement of goods. This will happen only if there are legal grounds of public interest. It should be noted that the concept of "goods" includes both industrial products and agricultural products. In this regard, it is proposed that the manufacturer of goods that are or will be placed on the Moldovan market may draw up a voluntary declaration on the lawful placement of goods for the purpose of mutual recognition (the "mutual recognition declaration"). In this way, he will prove to the competent national authorities that the goods are lawfully marketed in the EU Member State. The legislative initiative will enter into force 12 months after the date of publication in the Monitorul Oficial.//16.04.2025 – InfoMarket.
