The Romanian Prime Minister said this at a meeting in Bucharest with representatives of the Moldovan districts and the Siret-Prut-Dniester Euroregion. Marchel Ciolacu said that Romania supports Moldova's goal of joining the European Union “because this is the right way to improve the quality of people's life.” “We continue to work on our joint projects to develop transport and energy infrastructure and support investments, including by connecting the business environment in Romania and Moldova, because mobility is a determining factor in supporting economic competitiveness,” the Romanian Prime Minister said. Representatives of the Moldovan districts and the Siret-Prut-Dniester Euroregion, which unites 30 Moldovan districts, thanked Marcel Ciolaca and the Romanian government for their constant support. Representatives of the Romanian government and the Moldovan districts discussed a portfolio of joint projects, in particular, the construction of a bridge in Ungheni over the Prut, which will be part of the A8 highway, starting on April 26. Also, another major infrastructure project, which will contribute to improving Romania's connectivity with Moldova, is the A7 highway. Another topic of the discussion was the extension of the joint control regime operating at the Albita-Leuseni border crossing point and at other joint border crossing points.
