The Energy Community Secretariat and the Council of European Energy Regulators held a regional workshop in Moldova on the new roles of distribution system operators under the Clean Energy Package

According to a statement of the Energy Community Secretariat, the workshop took place on April 9-10. This regional event is part of the EU4Energy program to promote the clean energy transition in the Eastern Partnership countries. Building on the success of the first regional workshop on this topic, and given the growing importance of improving the regulatory framework and capacity of distribution system operators in the Eastern Partnership region, the Council of European Energy Regulators and the Energy Community Secretariat organized the second workshop. The event was attended by representatives of national regulators and distribution system operators from the EaP countries. The main objective of the event was to improve participants' understanding of the operation of distribution systems in the context of the new electricity market design with a focus on the integration of renewable energy and the deployment of new market players in the electricity market, thus addressing the objectives set out in the Clean Energy Package. The workshop featured expert presentations on best practices from the EU Energy Community on the changing roles of distribution system operators in a reformed electricity market. Participants were able to take part in knowledge sharing sessions aimed at supporting their efforts to promote a sustainable energy transition in their countries. // 11.04.2025 - InfoMarket.
