In Moldova, 556 companies received 24.5 million lei in electricity compensation for January, February and part of March 2025

This was reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, noting that compensation payments will continue throughout the year. The application process is simple and fast: everything is done online, in the EVO application or on the MCabinet portal, where the Compensation module is available to those eligible. "This program, launched in January 2025, has a clear goal: to reduce the burden of bills and thus support the business environment," the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization emphasized. They recalled that changes had been made earlier to ensure that as many companies as possible had access to this support. Key changes include: extending the application deadline from 10 to 30 days from the invoice date; eliminating the 3% criterion; extension of the program for the entire 2025, and not just for 3 months, as originally planned. This program, implemented by the Moldovan government with the support of the European Union, is a specific measure to support the business environment in the context of rising electricity prices. The program budget is 300 million lei. Its goal is to support enterprises from priority sectors by partially compensating for the increase in regulated electricity prices in order to maintain competitiveness and economic sustainability. Compensation is provided in the form of a financial payment in the amount of 50% of the difference in the regulated price (excluding VAT), which arose as a result of the increase in regulated prices for electricity supply. Compensations are provided to companies operating in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and manufacturing. // 08.04.2025 – InfoMarket.
