This was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea and State Secretary Mircea Pascaluta with a delegation of the Secretariat of the International Transport Forum (ITF), headed by Secretary General Kim Young Tae. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the goal of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for the development of the transport sector and to strengthen Moldova's cooperation with the ITF. The main topics of discussion during the meeting were the improvement of the CEMT multilateral permit distribution system to facilitate the access of Moldovan carriers to European markets, as well as the digitization and optimization of the CEMT permit issuance process to increase transparency and efficiency. In particular, the functionalities of the digital CEMT system developed by ITF and its implementation to ensure more efficient management of applications and regulations were discussed. The focus was on the training of the National Road Transport Agency staff responsible for issuing permits and digitizing processes, in the context that CEMT permits and paper on-board logbooks will be replaced by their digital versions as of January 1, 2026.
