The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development will develop a Transport Development Plan until 2027 to effectively use EU investments

According to the specialized agency, the transport sector is a priority in Moldova's Reform and Growth Facility, adopted by the European Union with a total budget of 1.9 billion euros. In this context, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development initiated the elaboration of a Transport Development Plan for 2025-2027, which will make it possible to efficiently channel investments from this mechanism exactly where urgent reforms are needed. “With this plan, we intend to use the available resources to transform our country's transportation sector and infrastructure over the next 3 years. These investments will be directed to the modernization of national and local roads to ensure road safety; development of more accessible and sustainable public transport; transformation of railroads to make them more efficient and safe; expansion and modernization of river ports, especially Giurgiulesti port; implementation of intelligent transport system through digitization of services,” the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development said.
