Moldovan Banks Association (ABM) and Transfond will cooperate on SEPA payments
ABM reported that its representatives held a meeting with Transfond to discuss the payment schemes managed by this institution and the possibilities of cooperation with the Moldovan banking sector. The following topics were touched upon: participation in the SENT system; processing of cross-border and euro payments; liquidity management; net position settlement; SEPA instant transfers (within 10 seconds); details of technical solutions and steps required for connection. As noted by ABM, this meeting was particularly important given that Transfond, the operator of the Automated Clearing House in Romania, ensures the processing of SEPA payment orders, and the event took place in the important context of Moldova's accession to the SEPA payment zone as of March 6.
