The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that, in October 2024 Moldova's trade deficit amounted to $461.1 million, which is $31.6 million (6.4%) less than in the previous month, but $88.8 million (23.8%) more than in October of the previous year. Overall for 10 months in 2024, compared to the same period of 2023, Moldova's trade deficit with EU countries increased by 31.4% - to $1 billion 691.9 million, with CIS countries - decreased by 61.6% - to $78.5 million, and with other states - increased by 17.9% - to $2 billion 685.8 million. According to the NBS, the largest deficit of Moldova's trade balance in January-October 2024 was in trade with China - $1 billion 005.3 million (+22.2% compared to the same period of 2023).
