The European Commission will urgently consider further ways to assist Moldova in strengthening its energy security
This is stated, among other things, in the conclusions adopted by the European Council after the December 19 summit, at which the European leaders reiterated their support for Moldova, stressing the importance of close cooperation in order to increase Moldova's sustainability and stability. According to the conclusions on Moldova, the European Council commended the Moldovan authorities for the successful conduct of the presidential elections and the referendum on enshrining EU accession in the Constitution, despite Russia's hybrid actions to undermine the country's democratic institutions. The European Council welcomed the Moldovan citizens' commitment to European integration. It emphasized that the EU will continue to work closely with Moldova to increase the country's sustainability and stability and to support its reform efforts on the European path, including through the implementation of the Growth Plan for Moldova and the early adoption of the Reform and Growth Fund. The European Council invited the European Commission to urgently consider further ways to help Moldova strengthen its energy security. // 20.12.2024 - InfoMarket
