Measures to simplify processes in the food and sanitary-veterinary sphere were discussed at a meeting of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister

A draft law aimed at optimizing and digitalizing processes in the food and sanitary-veterinary spheres, supporting the business environment and bringing them in line with the European practice, was considered at a meeting of the working group for promoting green transition and cross-border trade of the Economic Council under Prime Minister. The draft proposes significant measures to reduce the administrative burden and increase efficiency. In particular, it is proposed to eliminate the duplication of information on paper with information in electronic format. Thus, reporting on animal movements and prices of animal carcasses will be done exclusively through e-ANSA platforms, and paper documentation will be eliminated. The validity period for certain activities will be extended: permits and sanitary veterinary certificates for transportation will be valid for at least 3 years and for activities in this area - for a longer or unlimited period. For certain products of animal origin it is planned to exclude sanitary-veterinary certificates, as they can be replaced by a health mark and a manufacturer's declaration. It is also planned to provide support for entrepreneurial initiatives: projects in the sanitary and veterinary field will comply with best practice recommendations approved and published by ANSA, without additional approval procedures. The Economic Council said that the proposed measures aim to improve the competitiveness of economic operators, reduce compliance time and costs, and ensure full traceability of products through digital means. The draft is in the public consultations phase. // 23.12.2024 - InfoMarket.
