The Parliament of Moldova adopted in the first reading amendments to the Law on the State Social Insurance Budget for 2024, reducing its revenues and expenditures by 91.32 million lei (-0.2%) - to 42 billion 933 million 253 thousand lei
The bill was developed in order to clarify the revenue and expenditure parts of the budget as a result of the dynamics of budget execution for 9 months of the current year, as well as an analysis of various aspects of indicators: monthly or quarterly dynamics of expenses of previous years, the dynamics of the number of recipients and the average size of social benefits, the seasonal nature of some benefits, accounting for amounts not received by beneficiaries. According to the National Social Insurance Fund, the initially planned budget identified the risk of non-use of the planned financial resources. We are talking about pensions of deputies, members of the government, prosecutors, persons who are fully covered by the state social security, etc. Unused funds were also identified in the case of benefits: parental allowance for an insured father, single allowance for a child adopted or taken into foster care, single allowance for the period of guardianship over an adopted child, etc. According to the draft law, the identified savings will be directed to other categories of social benefits. Thus, an additional 99 million 271 thousand lei will be allocated for temporary disability benefits caused by common illnesses or accidents not related to work, 21.2 thousand lei for pensions of certain categories of cultural workers, and 221.8 thousand lei for judges. Additional funds will also be allocated for survivor's pensions - 18 million 647.1 thousand lei, and for benefits in the event of the death of one of the spouses - 7 million 628.4 thousand lei. It is also proposed to increase the budget for the protection of families and children. Thus, an additional 67 million 413.1 thousand lei will be allocated to support families at the birth of a child, 23 million 004.7 thousand lei for childcare benefits up to 2 years of age, and 305.4 thousand lei for raising twins or more children born from one pregnancy up to 3 years of age.// 21.11.2024 — InfoMarket
