Moldovan parliament to resume plenary sittings on November 8

In particular, members of the Standing Bureau of the supreme legislative body approved on Wednesday the agenda of the parliamentary plenary sittings that will be held from November 8 to 15. It is planned that the MPs will consider a number of projects on the harmonization of the national legislation with the European norms. These are legislative initiatives on the provision of digital content and digital services; the freedom to establish service providers and provide services; policies in the aquaculture sector; amendments to the regulatory framework on the single-party company, as well as to the regulatory framework on the aspects of banks' recovery and banking resolution. At the same time, the parliament is due to ratify a series of agreements, including a financial assistance agreement worth 120 million Canadian dollars with Canada; an agreement with the French Development Agency (AFD) to provide budgetary support to finance Moldova's transition to a green economy; a protocol on the amendment of the convention on the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion with regard to taxes on income and capital, signed with the Luxembourg government. Another agreement to be proposed for ratification concerns the financing provided by the World Bank for the energy modernization of 46 schools across the country, as well as the modernization of the district heating system in the Chisinau municipality. Also, the Cabinet will ratify an agreement on the creation of a branch of the Bulgarian Angel Kanchev University in Moldova. At the same time, the MPs will examine in the first reading amendments to a series of normative acts: the law on insolvency, the law on seeds, the law on the status of servicemen, the law on the organization and implementation of tourism activities, the law on museums, the law on air pollution charges, the law on the social integration of people with disabilities, the law on the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund. The MPs will discuss a draft law on practicing the profession of psychologist and amend legislation aimed at sanctioning the illegal manufacture or sale of military uniforms.
