Moldova is in favor of attracting new investments from Luxembourg, including in IT, as well as of extending cooperation in finance, renewable energy sources and other fields

The statement was made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean after a meeting in Chisinau with his Luxembourg counterpart Luc Frieden. The two Prime Ministers specified that the Moldovan-Luxembourg partnership allows Moldova to adopt the best practices in the fields of finance, internal affairs, social and environmental protection, as well as renewable energy sources. Moldova wants to develop efficient markets in these fields and attract new investments in the national economy, one of the most competitive sectors of which is information technologies. It was emphasized that the Moldovan-Luxembourg cooperation will help Moldova to advance on the European path, while Luxembourg remains a development model for Moldova and an example of how a small state can find its well-defined position in the European Union. Dorin Recean thanked Luxembourg for its constant support for Moldova's development and for the European integration process, noting that the launch of talks on Moldova's accession to the European Union in June this year took place in Luxembourg. He noted that Luxembourg is a founding state of the European Union and a symbol of European unity. “We share the same values and a common aspiration to build a European future in conditions of peace and prosperity for our citizens,” the Moldovan Prime Minister said. For his part, Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden assured that his country will help Moldova become part of the great European family. “We are proud that your European journey, the negotiations, symbolically started in Luxembourg. There is still a lot to be done and we are ready to provide you with the necessary assistance to adjust the legislation and successfully complete this process as soon as possible,” Luc Frieden said. The Luxembourg Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the constitutional referendum to be held in Moldova in October: “You are going to create your future. Democracy, the rule of law and prosperity are what unite us and we want to be together with Moldova on the path towards a great European family of democracies.” //13.09.2024 - InfoMarket.
