Moldova will receive additional funding from the United States in grants totaling $38.2 million to strengthen democracy and sustainable economic growth

In particular, this is stipulated by Amendment No. 15 to the Development Assistance Agreement between the Moldovan and US governments for strengthening participatory democracy, as well as Amendment No. 18 to the Development Assistance Agreement between the Moldovan and US governments for sustainable economic growth based on European integration, the launch of negotiations on which and their subsequent signing was approved by the Moldovan Cabinet at a meeting on Wednesday. Under the first project, Moldova will have access to a $12.2 million grant for projects that will promote civic culture, in cooperation with independent media organizations, and improve the quality of services provided by local public administration authorities. Under the second project, Moldova will have access to additional resources in a $26 million grant. The money will be used to increase the presence of domestically produced goods on the EU markets and will boost the competitiveness of the IT, digital media, engineering and light industry sectors. Both mentioned agreements were signed by the Moldovan and US governments on 28 September 2016, and their implementation period is until the end of 2025. // 12.09.2024 – InfoMarket
