The Moldovan Parliament is preparing to ratify the Moldovan-Azerbaijani readmission agreement
The relevant draft law was considered at a meeting on Wednesday by several parliamentary commissions. The document establishes, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity, fast and effective procedures for identifying and readmitting persons who do not meet the conditions for entry, stay or residence in the territory of Moldova or Azerbaijan. The agreement regulates the mechanisms of cooperation between the authorities of the two countries in the field of readmission of persons in a situation of illegal stay. The document specifies the competent authorities, state border crossing points, conditions for readmission and transit, protection of personal data and other important aspects. The agreement between the governments of Moldova and Azerbaijan on readmission was signed in Baku on May 24, 2024.
