
Invest Moldova Agency has presented strategic priorities in attracting investments and promoting exports within the Economic Diplomacy Club in Chisinau

The event was aimed at informing about the strategic priorities in attracting investments and promoting Moldovan exports, as well as at continuing the discussion sessions on strengthening economic relations through diplomacy. Invest Moldova Agency provided updates on 6 economic sectors and recent economic developments in Moldova, including details on Moldova Business Week 2024, an event aimed at attracting international investors to Moldova. Marina Bzovîi, Administrator of the Moldova Innovation Technology Park, presented the "Guide for IT Investor", describing opportunities in this sector. State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Segiu Mihov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization Viorel Garaz made welcoming speeches, highlighting the government's efforts to create instruments that help attract investments and promote exports. The event, organized in partnership with the Economic Development and Digitalization Ministry and Investment Moldova Agency, was aimed at strengthening the dialogue with foreign diplomatic missions in Moldova and informing them about the strategic priorities in attracting investments and promoting Moldovan exports, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said. Sergiu Mihov, State Secretary of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented in his speech the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create a sustainable, dynamic and inclusive economic environment in Moldova. He emphasized that Moldova faces multiple hybrid threats that require measures not only to mitigate immediate risks, but also to build a solid foundation for sustainable and stable growth. "The state's sustainability depends on our ability to adapt, to innovate and to form alliances that will strengthen Moldova's position on the international arena," the Foreign Ministry's State Secretary said. At the same time, the importance of the EU accession process was stressed in the context of the official launch of the negotiations just two years after Moldova and its neighbor Ukraine applied for accession. The Moldovan official also said that Moldova is stepping up its efforts to modernize the infrastructure, in order to improve its transport and energy capacities, two important fields for maintaining and expanding economic ties with the European and world markets. Sergiu Mihov stressed that the promotion of joint infrastructure development projects becomes very important also in the context of contributing to Ukraine's reconstruction process. In this context, the Min istry of Foreign Affairs State Secretary urged the ambassadors to actively promote the attraction of investors from the countries they represent, in order to expand the existing businesses or open new business opportunities in Moldova.
