
The central banks of Moldova and the Netherlands will introduce new joint projects to expand expertise in the field of economic research and analysis, integration of new technologies and artificial intelligence
This was discussed during a meeting held by the President of the National Bank of Moldova Anca Dragu and the head of the Central Bank of the Netherlands (De Nederlandsche Bank - DNB) Klaas Knot on the sidelines of the meeting of the Constituent Body of the IMF and the World Bank in Chisinau. According to the NBM, the parties discussed the results of bilateral cooperation, the Netherlands’ support for Moldova’s European path, as well as the prospects for cooperation between the two institutions. In this context, Anca Dragu emphasized the NBM's openness to continued cooperation in order to expand its expertise in the field of economic research and analysis. At the same time, the head of the National Bank of Moldova noted that the areas of cooperation could be the integration of new technologies and artificial intelligence. In turn, the head of the Central Bank of the Netherlands noted the success of already implemented Twinning programs, including the recently completed program “Strengthening supervision, corporate governance and risk management in the financial sector of Moldova,” in which De Nederlandsche Bank also participated as a partner. Klaas Knot expressed his readiness to continue these projects so that Moldova can benefit from the dissemination of experience and the integration of best European practices, which are important elements in the process of accession to the European Union. The Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands are partners and donors of the Slovenian Center of Excellence in Finance, through which the NBM project “Institutional transformation into a learning-oriented organization” (NBM LearnOrgLab) is being implemented.
