The Moldovan authorities are preparing a Program of economic reforms.
This was said during a working meeting at the Finance Ministry, which was attended by representatives of the mission of the European Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN), who are on an official visit to Moldova in the context of providing macro-financial assistance to Moldova. The event was attended by representatives of a number of national public authorities, including the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, State Tax Service, Customs Service, National Bank of Moldova, National Bureau of Statistics, as well as European officials. The agenda of the meeting focused on methodological discussions on budgetary forecasts of revenues and expenditures, fiscal policy objectives for 2024 and 2025, main budgetary measures, as well as sources of internal and external financing. Aspects related to the components of the Public Finance Management Development Strategy were also discussed, emphasizing its importance for increasing the efficiency of processes in this field. The preparation of the Economic Reform Program by the national authorities, recommendations for the Ministry of Finance from the EU Enlargement Report published on November 8, 2023, the level of fulfillment of conditions for receiving macro-financial assistance, as well as some budgetary aspects were also discussed. The DG ECFIN representatives appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Finance and noted that they will continue to support the authority in the implementation of all actions envisaged in the reform program. // 28.11.2023 - InfoMarket
