In Moldova, a larger number of enterprises will have access to state aid, and its minimum threshold will increase from 2 million to 5 million lei over 3 years.

This is provided for by corresponding amendments to the Law on State Aid, which the government approved at a meeting on Wednesday at the proposal of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization. As the department reported, thus, the national regulatory framework in the field of state aid will be brought into line with the rules of the European Union. It is planned that the increase in the minimum threshold of state assistance will expand the list of companies eligible to receive assistance, so that even small and medium-sized enterprises can take advantage of state assistance programs. As a result, new investments will be attracted, business development will be encouraged and innovation will be promoted within the beneficiary companies. “Companies that receive government assistance under the increased minimum threshold will be able to invest in research and development, modernize their infrastructure, improve product quality or expand their market presence. Thus, they will be able to compete in the domestic market and expand in international markets,” said Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba. The law will stipulate that minor assistance is a measure of support provided per beneficiary, regardless of the form and the purpose pursued, the total amount of which does not exceed, over a maximum period of 3 years, the threshold of 5 million lei. The total amount of minor assistance to an enterprise providing services of general economic importance should not exceed 10 million lei over 3 years, and the total amount of minor assistance provided to an enterprise that transports goods on behalf of third parties or for a fee should not exceed a threshold of 2 .7 million lei over 3 years. // 13.09.2023 — InfoMarket
