
An agreement on Moldova’s participation in the European Union’s Single Market Program was signed in Brussels.
This was announced by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, noting that the document was signed on September 8. According to her, the EU program will help prepare the private sector and government institutions for European rules and standards and expand access to European markets for Moldovan goods and services. At the same time, the program encourages the creation of start-ups and the development of competitive and sustainable SMEs, and provides access to EU best practices and experiences. “The signing of this agreement represents an important step towards the gradual integration of our country into the EU single market and a strong commitment to modernize and bring Moldova into line with European standards. A competitive and strong economy means well-paid work at home and a higher standard of living for citizens,” said Maia Sandu. The European Union's Single Market program is an EU financial support program with a budget of 4.2 billion euros, designed for 7 years (from 2021 to 2027).
