The construction of the road R34.4 Leova-border with Romania and the Leova-Bumbata state border crossing point with the corresponding infrastructure is recognized as a project of national importance.
This is provided for by a corresponding bill declaring the public utility of the named works of national importance. The estimated budget for the construction of the Leova-Bumbata road and checkpoint is 252.23 million lei (including VAT), and the deadline for completion of the work is November 2023. The funding is allocated by the Road Fund Allocation Program for National Roads for 2022-2023. The costs associated with the alienation and registration of lands necessary for the construction of the access road and infrastructure of the Leova-Bumbata border point are estimated at 168.23 thousand lei, which will also be allocated by the mentioned program. We are talking about 8 hectares of land from a multifunctional economic zone located in the floodplain of the Prut River, northwest of the city of Leova. Recall that the Leova-Bumbata checkpoint, the 7th border checkpoint on the border of Moldova with Romania, created jointly by the governments of the two countries, was put into partial operation at the end of May this year. This checkpoint serves approximately 800 thousand citizens from several neighboring districts, including Leova, Cantemir, Hincesti, Cimislia, Basarabeasca, Causeni, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi and Stefan Voda districts, as well as ATU Gagauzia. The checkpoint is designed to relieve traffic at other checkpoints, in particular the busiest ones - Leuseni-Albita and Cahul-Oancea. // 07.09.2023 — InfoMarket
