The World Bank mission inspected the construction progress of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau transmission line (400KV).
The implementation team of the Moldova Power System Development Project under the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in the Field of Energy (UCIPE) and representatives of Moldelectrica SE presented to the World Bank experts the project implementation progress and priorities for the near future. In particular, technical aspects, financial and institutional management, environmental and social aspects, as well as the process of implementation of the relocation plan for the construction of the Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead transmission line were discussed. UCIPE director Ruslan Surugiu said that the preparatory works are being carried out in a timely manner, and the relocation plan will be realized according to the conditions previously agreed with the WB. Let us remind that the 61-million-euro project for the development of Moldova's electricity system is financed by the World Bank. It envisages the construction of a high-voltage Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead transmission line, modernization and expansion of 2 power substations, as well as consolidation of the dispatching and metering system of the Moldelectrica state enterprise. Within the visit, the WB experts visited Moldelectrica's Chisinau power plant, which will be modernized within the project. Also, the WB assessment mission will continue on-site visits to evaluate the implementation of the second Chisinau District Heating Efficiency Improvement Project (PIESACET-2). // 07.09.2023 – InfoMarket
